Discover a Quieter Side of Kyoto Through Goshuin
Begin by creating your own handmade goshuin book using traditional decorative washi inspired by Kyoto’s long history of craftsmanship. Once your book is complete, visit temples and shrines carefully selected by our team, including places quietly loved by locals and still little known outside Japan.
As you collect goshuin throughout the experience, your handmade book gradually becomes a personal record of your journey through Kyoto. Along the way, you’ll discover a slower and more personal side of the city — one that is often missed among Kyoto’s famous sightseeing spots.
Our guide staff will support you throughout the tour, so even first-time visitors to goshuin culture can relax and enjoy the experience comfortably.

What is Goshuin?
Goshuin are special seals and calligraphy received at temples and shrines in Japan as a record of your visit.
Each temple and shrine has its own unique design, and some goshuin are only available during certain seasons or limited periods of time. For many travelers, collecting goshuin becomes a memorable way to explore different places and experience the culture and atmosphere of Kyoto.

About the Traditional Decorative Washi
The decorative washi used in this experience is called Kyo-Karakami, a traditional Kyoto paper craft that has been loved for centuries. Using carved woodblocks and delicate patterns inspired by nature and the changing seasons, each sheet reflects the quiet elegance deeply rooted in Kyoto culture.
In this experience, you will use authentic Kyo-Karakami paper to create your own goshuin book, allowing you to experience Kyoto craftsmanship through both texture and design.
