Iga-ryu Ninja Museum

Who were the Iga-ryu ninjas? Far from the fictional characters seen in movies, they were elite historical spies and survival experts born in the rugged mountains of Iga, renowned for their advanced intelligence-gathering and stealth.

At the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, you can uncover the fascinating truth behind their legends. Led by an expert guide, you will explore an authentic Ninja Residence filled with clever traps, hidden rooms, and secret escape routes. You will also get an up-close look at real ninja weapons and tools, revealing the incredible ingenuity of these ancient shadow warriors.
Bansenshukai: Ninja Training & Lunch

Named after the legendary ninja manual, Bansenshukai offers a premium 2.5-hour immersive experience that seamlessly blends local gastronomy with authentic ninja culture. Your time here begins with a savory lunch featuring premium Iga beef, locally grown vegetables, and regional Iga rice. Afterward, you will transform into traditional ninja attire and train directly under an English-speaking master. Rather than a simple tourist attraction, this experience delivers profound value by teaching you genuine ancient mindsets, hand signs, and stealth techniques, culminating in a thrilling live-action infiltration challenge.
Nagatanien Iga Ware Store

With a heritage stretching back over 1,200 years, Iga pottery is deeply intertwined with the spiritual art of Chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony). During the samurai era, legendary tea masters revered Iga ware for its raw, rustic charm and profound wabi-sabi aesthetic.

Founded in 1832, Nagatanien beautifully carries on this ancient craft. What makes their pottery truly magical is the local clay, sourced from a prehistoric lakebed, which gives their famous clay cooking pots (donabe) exceptional heat retention. Nagatanien transforms traditional craftsmanship into functional masterpieces for modern living. Exploring their historic grounds—featuring a registered cultural property climbing kiln—offers a rare opportunity to take home a piece of living Japanese history.
