Luxurious Experience at Konko-in: Conversations with the Abbot, Shojin Cuisine, and Firefly Viewing to Soothe the Soul
You are invited to a special seasonal experience at Konko-in, the sub-temple of Konkai Komyo-ji, located in an area of Kyoto with many sightseeing spots.

Konkai Komyo-ji Temple was the first Jodo sect temple, and this spring marks 850 years since its founding. The head temple of the Jodo sect is affectionately known as "Kurodani-san" by the people of Kyoto. Konko-in Temple was the first among the 18 sub-temples to be built, and is the one and only temple which received Konkai Komyo-ji Temple’s precious Chinese characters for “gold” (金) and “light” (光) at its founding.

In this experience, the head priest of Konko-in Temple will personally explain about Buddhism, the life of Japanese monks, and the sacred service.

After strolling around Konkai Komyo-ji Temple, enjoy "Shojin Ryori" Buddhist vegetarian cuisine in a private space, and then observe the Japanese fireflies that appear in the Japanese garden while enjoying Konko-in's original drink.

・The guided tour and Shojin Cuisine/Buddhist meal at Konko-in Temple are a private experience.
