◆ About Tofuku-ji
Founded with the aspiration to rival the grandeur of Todai-ji, the largest temple in Nara, and the magnificence of Kofuku-ji, considered the most splendid temple in Nara, Tofuku-ji was constructed by taking their respective characters '東' (East) and '福' (Fortune). It became the largest temple complex in Kyoto, known as Enichisan Tofuku-ji. It is one of Kyoto's representative autumn foliage spots, offering mesmerizing, fiery hues. This large-scale exhibition marks the first time that Tofuku-ji's Buddha statues and furnishings are displayed together. ＜Tofuku-ji Guided Tour (1.5 hours)＞

Sanmon Gate: The oldest surviving gate among Zen temples in Japan (National Treasure). Honbo Garden (Abbot's Quarters "Hojo"): A traditional Japanese garden registered as a nationally designated scenic spot, featuring a "Karesansui" dry landscape style. Gaunkyo Bridge: A roofed, all-wood bridge designated as an Important Cultural Property by the Kyoto Prefecture.
